Wear Your Personality – Design Your Own T-Shirt

Iron On Design

We don’t always want to wear our heart on our sleeve, but sometimes it is fun to wear our personality out in the open. You can do that when you design your own t-shirt. I don’t mean the kind of t-shirt that you order pre-printed on-line, but truly make it your own personalized creation.

First, develop a design that you want to wear. You can make a t-shirt your creation by using iron-on transfers, embroidery, embellishments, and  fabric paint to name just a few ways.  There are so many ideas and tutorials on the web, you might have a hard time choosing just one!

Second, you need to pick out a t-shirt that looks great on you (maybe get two or three if you can’t pick only one design). Rock Bottom T-Shirts has plenty of great tees to choose from in a variety of fabrics and styles.

Third, once you have all your supplies together…create!!! Make sure you follow all directions, especially when using iron-on transfers and fabric paints.

Style doesn’t stop just with the embellishment. Think outside the box by adding your decoration to an unexpected area like the sleeve, bottom hem or even on the back. You can also alter the t-shirt itself by cutting the neck-line, cutting the sleeves or even the sides, and tying knots. The possibilities are endless when you start looking at your t-shirt as a canvas instead of just a piece of clothing.

Here are some resources for more information on designing your own t-shirts. These are just a start. Search the web and you’ll find tons more.
