Today we wanted to highlight Premiere Vision’s 2012/2013 Autumn/Winter color forecast. The color trends that we’re referencing come by way of Natalie LeDoux’s blog. Continue reading as we share four upcoming trends that you should be aware of this fall and winter.
What’s unique about Natalie’s blog is that although she doesn’t actively blog there anymore, she started this blog as a way of recording her experiences during an eight week internship for a children’s apparel licensing firm in New York called Fishman & Tobin.
Within the eight short weeks that she maintained this blog Natalie managed to publish lots of insightful posts on fashion. On July 13, 2011 Natalie published a post summarizing what she saw at a convention held by Premiere Vision in New York.
We’re going to paraphrase Natalie’s write-up as follows:
- Color Contrast Continue to Flourish– Just as in past seasons where we’ve seen designers paring neutral colors with brighter colors, the same will hold true in the Autumn and Winter of 2012/2013.
- Vibrant Prints Press Onward – Expect to continue seeing designers doing more with vibrant prints. Natalie also said something else that was interesting which was that a lot of the prints that we saw were in water colors.
- Denim Reinvents Itself Through Color and Texture – We have already seen more colorful denim as of late but to step it up we should also anticipate seeing denim manufacturers doing more with textures and washes. For example, coated denim and enzyme washed denim.
- Tweed Fabric Gets an Exciting New Look – Tweeds will get a contemporary makeover that will have us seeing brighter and more colorful tweeds this fall and winter.
In closing, we found Natalie’s Premiere Vision Autumn/Winter 2012/2013 color trends post to be very insightful. Let us know what you think and whether you’re excited or not by the upcoming color trends.
