Living a fashionable lifestyle doesn’t have to run you ragged. It defeats the purpose of fashion. It’s all about donning outfits that make you look and feel good in a stress-free way.
Maintaining a fashionable lifestyle also does not have to break the bank. There are many ways for you to stay immersed in fashion but not have to spend most of your income. Here are some things to consider:
1. Put up a fashion or a personal style blog.
If you lack inspiration and drive, your blog readers can boost you up. There’s nothing like a blog to motivate you into choosing clothes, taking snapshots of you in them and putting them up for your readers to see. You can also use your photos as future inspirations when you have run out of creative juices.
2. Regularly scour thrift stores.
You’d be amazed on the number of beautiful garments found in smelly and dingy thrift stores. Shopping here might not be the best experience but if you’re patient, you’ll go home with an armful of inexpensive but fashionable and timeless pieces that will keep you fashionably saturated for a long time.
3. Invest in timeless pieces that you can mix and match.
The problem with many purchases is that they represent only clothes that are current and eye-catching. You should also view your clothes as individual pieces that have the potential to be combined with other pieces in your closet.
Timeless pieces are great. These days, vintage pieces are making a huge comeback and they definitely will work for many more years to come.
Do It Yourself! This is the best solution in revamping old clothes and turning them into more current pieces. Embellish the collar or cut out the back portion with a nice heart shape. That old long skirt can be transformed into a knee-length dress that is so fashionable these days.
5. Raid your mother’s or your boyfriend’s closet.
You’ll find lots of clothes that go with your own clothes in someone else’s closet. Your mother’s vintage dress can be paired up with your new blazer. Your boyfriend’s chunky sweater can be paired up with your pretty lace shorts. Don’t just limit your clothing options with what you can find in your own closet.
For petite girls, you can even raid your younger sister’s or cousin’s closet. Pretty dresses and tank tops turned hanging blouses are perfect during the summer.
